This installation was created on site in the waters of French Creek in Saint Peter’s Village. The silk floated in the water and then laid upon rocks. With time and a bit of patience, I waited for the right moment to blow powder dye onto the silk. The results created were from the characteristics of the rock. Truly an imprint of nature’s elements at work. These abstractly created images of nature bring a sense of tranquility and impermanence to our ever-changing world. The simplicity of the shapes and materials used are minimalistic in nature and create a balanced complexity and calming effect. The work is created with the same gentleness of spirit and kindness that nature has given to humankind. Currently, on view at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts until September 8, 2018. The artwork is available for sale.
